The Angel, Midhurst, West Sussex.
The Angel Hotel & Restaurant has stood in the stunning location by the South Downs since 1652, at which time Charles ll was on the throne, Oliver Cromwell was Lord Protector and the Roundheads were garrisoned in Cowdray
Castle, the ruins of which lie directly behind the hotel. Past guests of the Tudor Castle were King Henry Vlll and Queen Elizabeth l, who were served by the castles butler, Guy Faulkes. The Angel is a 400 year old Coaching Inn
and in 2009, underwent a total refurbishment and now offer 15 beautiful en-suite bedrooms and 2 huge suites, a first class restaurant, bar and coffee shop.
